The Emery Spartans put the final touches on a highly successful swimming season with an overall second place finish for the boys and third place nod for the girls at the 2A state championship at Brigham Young University in Provo.
 
North Summit earned the state championship on the boy's side of the pool with a final scored of 250, topping second place Emery by 25 points. Rowland Hall finished third with 157, followed by Grand and South Summit. 
 
Grand claimed the state championship on the girl's side finishing with 237 points, topping second place North Summit by eight. Emery finished in third with 205, followed by Rowland Hall and Wasatch Academy. 
 
Nate Gilbert, Keldan Guymon, Dakota Wright and Daryl Guymon grabbed the school's lone first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Finishing with a time of 1:38.56, the team broke the school's record of 1:41.48, which was set back in 2013. 
 
Emery accumulated three second place finishes and four third place finishes as a team. Senior Madi Allinson delivered the girls' highest event finish, taking third in the 200 yard IM. The boys 200 yard medley team consisting of Wright, Keldan Guymon, Devin Willson and Garret Stilson also finished second.
