USU Eastern Theatre Department is hosting their finals nights of the play Rabbit Hole tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 pm in the Peterson Black Box Theatre in the CIB Building. There will be no matinee showing of the production tomorrow.

Dr. Corey A. Ewan, Director said, “This was a show that I saw several years ago and it really struck me with its truthfulness, with its power, it is about grief. I think it will be something that everyone can relate to.”  Rabbit Hole is a play written by David Lindsay-Abaire who was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The play deals with the ways family members survive a major loss. “You’ve got the two sisters and the mom, then Howie the husband and some of the eccentricities and things that they come up with, some of the things that they get caught about, I just like it, I think they are playing the humor really well,” said Ewan.

The small group of cast members has allowed Ewan to spend more one on one time instructing each student as they prepare for the production. “The really cool thing is they are mostly freshman, they have really stepped up and taken on some very mature situations within the play and played them brilliantly,” stated Ewan.

The play contains some mature themes and language, children under 6 years of age will not be admitted.
