Carbon High Theatre presents Suite Surrender beginning Wednesday, March 2nd through Saturday, March 5th and last showing on Monday, March 7th with showings to begin at 7:30 pm in the Carbon High School Auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door, admission costs are adults $5.00, children $3.00, Carbon High Students with their ID are free.

Drama Teacher, Steve Pay spoke about choosing Suite Surrender and preparation that has gone into the show, “Well it actually took me about a month to get the script chosen. I read ten different scripts looking for this one until I found it and this one was just a fun comedy farce, is what they call it and it only has nine actors. But that was the preliminary and then it took us five weeks to get the nine actors ready to go plus all the set building and all the sound effects and everything that goes along with it.”

Pay spoke about how relaxing the play would be for the entire family, “It’s a time to just turn off your cell phones, forget about what happened during the day or the week and just sit down, and in this case it’s a little 90 minute show and just sit down forget everything that has happened and just have a good laugh.”

Students performing in this production are seasoned actors mostly juniors and seniors. “It’s my seasoned kids, juniors and seniors that have been in other shows to say that they are not nervous would not be right because they’re nervous for opening night. But they’re pretty seasoned actors and so they are ready to go, but they are excited to have an opening night,” said Pay.

This is Pay’s third year teaching drama at Carbon High School he came to the area from Juan Diego.
