Rocky Mountain Care in partnership with the Family Support Center and United Way of Eastern Utah are hosting a Child Loss Support Group the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Family Support Center located at 80 South Fairgrounds Road in Price.

“We collaborated with the Family Support Center and they are allowing us to use their facility to do a child loss support group once a month,” said Alison Marrelli, Medical Social Worker. “We meet on the second Thursday of the month at noon and then again at 5:30 that same day and the support center is actually offering child care so people can attend without having to find a sitter, so we want people to be able to come on their lunch hour or after work, whatever is best for them.”

The support group is an opportunity to meet other individuals who are going through the emotions of losing a child. “I think everybody has been touched by child loss, if it was a miscarriage, SIDS, you know an accident and we all know somebody that has gone through it and yet it’s not something we talk about often,” said Marrelli.

The support group always welcomes new members at any given time. Marrelli finished with, “We do ask that they do RSVP because we like to bring treats so if they’ll all us at 637-0665 that’s the Rocky Mountain phone number then we will know how many to plan on for each meeting.”
