Carbon High School senior Cole Fossat earned a selection to the 3A All-State Third Team after leading his team in scoring during the 2015-2016 campaign.
Fossat, a 5-foot-11 guard, averaged 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals per contest despite missing the entire region season due to a leg injury. While playing the first half of the season, he helped lead Carbon to one of their best non-region records in recent years.
Suffering the injury during Christmas break, Fossat missed 11 straight games before returning for the opening round of the state tournament against Logan. Fossat scored a team best 10 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists despite a 73-52 loss to Logan.
Even missing the bulk of the season Fossat still garnered enough votes from coaches in the 3A classification to be named to the Third-Team. Fossat was the only Carbon boys basketball player to receive an All-State nod.
