Carbon County Senior Centers continue to operate five days a week with lunch being served Monday thru Thursday. The Mobile Meal program has NOT been cut and still offers meals seven days a week, with frozen meals offered for the weekend.

We serve the residents of Carbon County who are age sixty and older. The mission of the Senior Centers is to promote the physical, emotional and economical wellbeing of older adults and to promote their participation in all aspects of community life. A large part of the senior centers efforts focus on a well-balanced daily meal.

In an attempt to continue to serve lunch on Friday we are asking both businesses and individuals to sponsor a Friday lunch. Looking at food prices and the number of those we hope to serve, we estimate it costs approximately $350.00 to serve a well-rounded Friday meal at the Price center and $90.00 at the East Carbon (EC) center. We have already received pledges for several Friday lunches (Miner’s Trading Post, Carbon Medical Services EC, EC card players, EC Recreation, AARP, EUCCU, The Tony Basso Group, Mike & Leanne Milovich, David & Debby Kobe, Bonnie Bell, Helen Garr, Brenda Richardson, House of Hearing and Webb Tours).

We invite those interested in sponsoring Friday lunch to contact the senior centers. Deborah Kobe – Carbon County Senior Activities Center – 636-3202 Bonnie Bell – East Carbon Senior Center – 636-3703
