The Utah Utes will wrap up their spring football camp with the 13th annual Red-and-White game at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, April 23 beginning at noon.

Admission for the game is free, as well as the MUSS and Alumni games that precede it. The Red-White game will feature 10-minute quarters with a standard clock in the first half and a running clock in the second half. There will be no punt or kick-off returns. Kickoffs will be placed at the 35-yard line and punts will be marked at the spot of the fair catch.

“We’ve got a lot going on with quarterback and linebacker battles. It’s been good so far and we feel like we are making progress,” said head coach Kyle Whittingham on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports. “The main objective is to make every one player in the program better fundamentally during the spring.”

Two first-year assistants were appointed as the head coaches for the Red and White teams. Guy Holliday, wide receivers coach, formerly of Brigham Young University, will lead the Red team. Tight ends coach Fred Whittingham Jr. will lead the white team.

Junior Brandon Cox will play quarterback for the Red team, while freshman Tyler Huntley will be under center for the White team. Whittingham said earlier this week he anticipates both quarterbacks playing the entire game.

During the game the defense will be restricted to its base 4-3, cover two package with four down linemen, three linebackers and four defensive backs. The offense has no limitations to its formations.
