Unable to cross home plate for the second consecutive game, the Carbon Lady Dinos suffered a 4-0 loss to the Juab Wasps in the regular season finale Tuesday afternoon in Price.

Needing a win to potentially grab second place in Region 12, the Lady Dinos struggled to find success on offense. Juab pitcher Taylei Williams kept Carbon off balance throughout the afternoon. Tuesday’s shutout loss for the Lady Dinos marked the second in four days against Juab, who claimed the Region 12 crown outright.

The back-to-back losses to end the season places Carbon’s final region record at 4-4, which could place them anywhere from second to fourth depending on the outcome of Juab’s regular season finale Wednesday against North Sanpete. A win for Juab would force a three-way tie between Carbon, North Sanpete and Canyon View. A win for North Sanpete would place Carbon and Canyon in a tie for third and fourth.

Following Wednesday’s conclusion a coin flip will determine tie-breakers. If the Lady Dinos end up the No. 2 seed they would travel to Snow Canyon on Saturday for the opening round of the state tournament and meet Stansbury at 10:00 AM. Third place would send Carbon to Bear River High School and place them against Tooele in the first round. Fourth place would mean a trip to Grantsville for a first round showdown with the host school.
