Danielle-Jensen

PRICE – Utah State University Eastern announced today new head volleyball coach Danielle Jensen will lead the Eagle program this fall.

Jensen takes over the program from Brittney Lee who resigned earlier this year to move with her husband who took a new job outside of Price.

Paur says the coaching style and experience of Jensen was a big reason why he made the hire.

“I think she is the right fit for us, I think she has the right temperament and I think she will work really well with the players and staff here,” said Paur.

Coach Jensen believes she is ready for the challenge and to help lead the program in the right direction.

“I am excited, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I am just excited to get going and see where it goes,” said Jensen.

This past season Coach Jensen took the year off and her love of the sport and the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level is what got her back into coaching volleyball.

“I love coaching, it’s just a passion that I have, being able to interact with the kids and the intensity on the court and the winning, even the losing because you learn so much” Says Jensen.

Before taking a year off due to the birth of her fourth child, Jensen was the head coach at Carbon High School for three years. She also previously was the head coach at Canyon View High School in Cedar City.

Coach Jensen, a Price native, played basketball and volleyball for Carbon High School with both USU Eastern women’s basketball coaches Chelsey Warburton and Morgan Nelson.

She is married with four children and currently resides in Price.

She takes over an Eagles volleyball program that went 12-16 last season with a 3-9 record in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
