Five former Carbon High School student-athletes have received athletic scholarships to continue their studies and playing career at the junior college and university levels.

Cole Fossat has signed a letter of intent with the USU-Eastern Eagles after receiving a scholarship to play baseball. A standout pitcher and shortstop for the Dinos throughout the past three seasons, Fossat led Carbon in every offensive category in 2016. Ending with a .532 batting average, Fossat also recorded seven home runs, 23 RBI, 41 hits and 12 doubles.

After leading the team in tackles, linebacker and fullback Dallyn Mower has received a scholarship to play football at Southern Utah University. Mower finished his senior campaign with 114 tackles, including 10.5 for losses. Offensively he finished with 489 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.

Peyton Fausett will continue his football career at the University of Wyoming. Fausett, like Mower was a driving force for the Dinos defensively. Registering 42 tackles and a team best eight sacks, Fausett also blocked two field goals.

Sara Morley has received a scholarship to play basketball and volleyball for the USU-Eastern Eagles. Morley, a senior transfer for the Dinos in 2015-16, averaged a double-double scoring 11 points and recording 10 rebounds to help lead Carbon to a third place finish.

Jordan Scoggins will join Morley on the USU-Eastern women’s basketball team as she also received a scholarship after playing just eight games in 2015-16. A catalyst for the Lady Dinos backcourt since her sophomore year, Scoggins averaged 9.5 points, three rebounds and three assists in her senior campaign. Her season was cut short due to a knee injury.
