The Price American Legion baseball team returned to the diamond and earned two league wins over Roosevelt at home.

Trailing throughout game one of the double-header, Price rallied in the middle innings to force an extra frame and grab a dramatic 6-5 win. Trevor Pummell earned the win on the hill as he worked the majority of the game in a relief effort for starter Johnny Tallerico.

Pummell helped his own cause on the hill as he scored the team’s first run of the game with a solo home run. From that point on Price fired on all cylinders as they scored the game’s final six runs to win the game in the eighth inning.

The second game of the double-header played out fairly similar to the first as Price once again stormed from behind to grab a win, this time by a final score of 10-7.

Price used a strong seven-run fourth inning to erase a 7-3 deficit, and earn the win. Gavin Robinette paced the Price offense, finishing with three hits in four at bats. The two wins give Price four league victories on the season, which should be good enough to secure a spot in the state tournament, taking place in two weeks.

Price will look to keep the momentum built in Wednesday’s wins when they travel out of the area for a wood bat tournament in Rangely, Colo. Playing in games Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Price will return home next week to finish out the regular season.
