Four different players scored a goal as the Emery Lady Spartans comfortably defeated the Carbon Lady Dinos 4-1 Tuesday afternoon in Castle Dale.

Morgan Hurdsman, Jennifer Funk, Chloe Sermon and Sophie Huntington all scored for the Lady Spartans in the win. After starting the season 0-2 Emery has evened their record after also defeating Union last week.

Elley Cowdell scored the only goal for Carbon in the setback. Tuesday’s loss dips the Lady Dinos to 1-3 on the season and comes following the team’s first win last week.

Emery controlled the action for much of the contest, taking a 2-1 lead into the break. The second half was a similar situation for Emery, never allowing Carbon to get back into the game. The win improves Emery to 2-0 all time against Carbon.

The Lady Spartans will take the remainder of the week off before returning to the field next Tuesday against North Sanpete. Carbon on the other hand will have an opportunity to bounce back Wednesday at home against Gunnison.
