The Carbon Dinos continued their dominance in the early portion of the 2016 golf season as they earned their third straight Region 12 victory Thursday afternoon at the Skyline Golf Course in Fairview.

Ending with a 317 team score the Dinos cruised past the host school and second place North Sanpete by 15 strokes. Canyon View finished in third with a score of 350, followed by Richfield and Juab.

Kayden Alderson led the way for Carbon in the win with a 73, the low score for the meet. North Sanpete’s River Dillman finished second individually after firing a 77. Ryan Gagon, Carson Martines and Joey Penovich all ended with an 82, giving the Dinos four of the top five individual scores for the day.

Region 12 leader Ryker Smith ended with Carbon’s high score after shooting an 83 in tricky weather conditions. Despite his score not being used towards Carbon’s final count, Smith finished with the sixth lowest round of the afternoon.

Thursday’s performance gives Carbon a commanding 41-stroke lead for the Region 12 championship. With only three meets remaining on the schedule the Dinos will have an opportunity to extend their lead on Thursday, Sept.8 when they play host to their lone home meet of the season.

Below are the current standing heading into the Sept. 8 meet at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course:
