Kyle Stewart delivered a devastating right hand that sent Emery County native Mike Jones to the mat, leading to a first round victory by technical knockout just seven seconds into the opening round of Fierce Fighting Championship’s main event at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Event Center Saturday night.

Performing in front of a packed house, Stewart’s victory over the crowd favorite Jones runs his record to 4-0 at the professional level and cements his name as the first belt holder in the promotion’s history. The loss for Jones dips his professional record to 4-2 and ends a three fight winning streak that dates back to August of 2015.

The evening’s card featured 10 bouts, including the co-main event, Johann Rubio and Miguel Taberna. After a strong first round performance, Taberna tapped out in the second round after Rubio successfully executed an americana.
