MURRAY- Our loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Mickie Jo Stewart age, 61, passed away peacefully September 26, 2016 at her home following a short battle with cancer.

She was born April 13, 1955 in Nephi, Utah to Royal and Glenna Johansen Stewart.

She spent her growing up years in Carbon County living in the coal camps and later in Spring Glen.  Mickie graduated from Carbon High School in 1973.  She later went to college at BYU and USU graduating Phi Kappa Phi with a Bachelors’ of Science in Psychology and Nursing.  She worked as a charge nurse for several hospitals and at Select Health as a case manager.  She later worked for Molina Health Care.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and spent many years teaching and doing sign language in the primary.  She was a very loving person caring for others.  Mickie was a special  “mother” to Glen and Wayne Johanson and was so proud of them when they graduated from high school.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survived by her loving mother, Glenna Stewart; sister, Debbie (Don) Davis; nieces and nephew, Becky (Luke) Cranford, Brenda Elkface, Brett (Brandi) Davis, Cheyenne, Ciara, Camree, Tate, Aden, Abby, Glen,Wayne Johanson and Terri Edwards.

Preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Stewart and her father, Royal Stewart.

Funeral service, Saturday, October 1, 2016, 10:00 a.m., Cimarron LDS Ward (1300 West 5870 South) in Murray.  Family will receive friends Friday evening at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main) in Price from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:00-9:45 a.m.  Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Mickie online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
