With the completion of the fall sports season the Emery Spartans are gearing up for the winter schedule, which begins this Friday as the swimming team plays host to a meet at the Emery County Aquatic Center.

The winter sports season will feature boys and girls basketball, drill team, swimming and wrestling. The swim team will participate in the first two events of the new season, hosting on Friday and then traveling to Cedar City the following week.

The boys basketball team will begin the season on Nov. 22 as they travel to Richfield for a non-region tilt with the Wildcats. Other key dates on the schedule feature a home contest with Carbon on Dec. 17 and a road matchup on Jan. 7. Region 15 action will officially begin on Jan. 6 when the Spartans play host to the Manti Templars.

After a standout 2015-16 season, the Emery Lady Spartans will begin the basketball season on Nov. 22 as they travel to meet South Summit. League play will begin for the Lady Spartans on their 11th game of the season as they travel to Manti on Jan. 5.
