The winter sports season will officially begin for the Carbon Dinos on Friday, as the swimming team travels to Delta for a meet for the first of 13 meets this season.

As the fall sports season heads into the final stretch with the football playoffs, the winter sports season that includes boys and girls basketball, wrestling, swimming and drill is right around the corner. Basketball and wrestling will begin on Nov. 22, while drill will start in December.

Under first year head coach Kyle Wilson, the Dinos boys basketball team will open up the 2016-17 season at home against Maple Mountain. Following the season opener the Dinos will play four consecutive road games before returning home on Dec. 9 against Stansbury.

Once again under head coach Ted Bianco, the Lady Dinos will open the season on Nov. 22 on the road against the Union Cougars. The first home contest will take place on Dec. 14 against Spanish Fork. The region season will begin on Jan. 10 against North Sanpete.

Brock Fausett will lead a new era of Carbon High School wrestling as he enters his first season as head coach. The first meet of the season will take place at home on Nov. 22 against Duchesne. The team will then travel to Union and Moab before returning home on Dec. 2.
