The Carbon Lady Dinos swim team used eight first place finishes as they topped three others schools to grab first place Wednesday afternoon in Richfield.

Veronica Ibanez claimed three individual first place finishes and helped the 200 yard medley relay team grab a win as the Lady Dinos finished with 93 points. Richfield finished in second with 47 points, followed Wasatch Academy and North Sanpete.

Tyler Swasey helped the boys team to 44 points and a second place finish as he scored victories in the 100 yard free and 100 yard backstroke. Rylan Chamberlain also delivered a win in the 200 yard freestyle. Richfield finished first with a total of 84 points.

Ibanez delivered a dominating performance with wins in the 200 yard IM, 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke. She was also part of the first place 200 yard medley relay team along with Megan Swasey, Sadie Crompton and Amanda Liu.

Crompton added points to the team’s final total with a first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. Liu finished first in the 50 yard free with a time of 28.35, and Swasey also claimed first in the 100 yard free style. The 400 yard free relay team consisting of Emily Jesperson, Ashlin Baker, Shannon Baker and Kacee Barrett also ended first.

The Dinos will continue the season as they play host to Canyon View and Gunnison Friday afternoon at the Desert Wave Pool. Following Friday’s meet the Dinos will next take to the pool at home on Nov. 29.
