The Pinnacle Panthers dipped to 0-2 on the young season with a 63-28 loss to Wendover in non-league action Tuesday evening in Price.

Hoping to regroup following a season opening loss to St. Joseph last week, the Panthers delivered a strong first quarter trailing 11-9 entering the second. Wendover took complete control before half time with a 26-6 run. The deficit was extended in the fourth as Pinnacle managed to score just two points in the final eight minutes.

Abe Acosta and Kaden Daughters scored the majority of the Panthers points as they finished with 11 a piece. Daughters’ 11-point performance comes after dropping 16 in the season opener.

Hulices Lopez poured in a game-high 18 for Wendover, six of which came from beyond the arc. Juan Palafox scored 11 and Eduardo Gomez ended with 10.

Still winless under first year head coach Eric Hansen, the Panthers will have an opportunity to bounce back when they return to the court Friday at home against American Leadership Academy.
