Many individuals may have noticed that the upcoming newly constructed Urgent Care facility has begun construction at the corner of 100 North 300 East.

Greg Cook, Chief Financial Officer for Castleview Hospital gave an update on the construction process, “Its been a long time coming, we took a little longer to get it under construction then we would have liked. We made a lot of changes and that has been a big portion of the delay.” Now that the changes have been made hospital officials are excited to get construction underway.

The new Urgent Care facility will be beneficial for the community. “Urgent Care does not replace an emergency room but there are times after hours or weekends when you cannot get into your primary care physician and have a definite need to go somewhere and so Urgent Care will fit that bill,” stated Cook. The operational hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and closed on Sundays. There is a possibility this could change but this is what is planned at this point.

Another great feature and the first of its kind in Carbon County is a drive-thru pharmacy. “A retail pharmacy with drive-up window, very convenient for patients to drive through and pick up their prescriptions and won’t have to drag sick kids inside or anything like that,” said Cook. There will also be limited physical therapy space available in the new building as well.

The new facility is set to open the later part in the Summer of 2017. “Weather permitting, obviously, we are in the middle of construction as winter is starting. If bad weather hits it could delay that some but right now we think we can hit that August date,” replied Cook. Hospital administrators are excited to be bring in a Urgent Care to the Castle Country area.
