The Carbon Dinos scored six runs in the final four innings to hand the Grand Red Devils their first loss of the season in a 6-2 decision Saturday afternoon in Moab.

Trailing 2-0 entering the top of the fourth inning, the Dinos scored two runs to draw even with the Red Devils. Carbon once again produced two runs in the fifth inning, and added two more in the seventh to pull away in the non-region tilt.

Jayden Flemmet finished 2-4 at the plate, going yard for the game’s only home run, while also registering a double and two RBI. Gavin Robinett also went 2-4, knocking a single and double and one RBI. Cody Lowe finished with three hits and a RBI, while Ty Anderson ended 2-4, bringing in one run.

Chase Morgan earned the win on the mound, allowing just one hit and no earned in five innings of work. Zac Bradley relieved Morgan for the final two frames as he struck out two and allowed no hits.

Alec Williams, Caden Noyes and Josh Jones shared pitching duties throughout the seven inning game for the Red Devils. Each pitcher allowed two earned runs as Noyes was tagged with the loss. The trio combined to give up 12 hits, while striking out six.

Saturday’s win moves Carbon to 4-4 in the non-league portion of schedule. The Dinos will now meet Union in a home and away set this Wednesday and Friday. Next week the team will open Region 12 play against the Juab Wasps.
