The 11-year-old Carbon Cal Ripken All-Stars opened Pacific Southwest Tournament play by easily defeating Northern Utah 10-0 in the first pool play game of the week Monday afternoon in Long Beach, Calif.

Wyatt Falk earned the win on the mound, pitching two innings of shutout ball, while also striking out four. Riley Davis worked in relief to help preserve the combined no-hitter as Carbon earned a quick win via the 10-run rule.

As a team Carbon ended with nine hits, and committed just one error in the field. The win allows Carbon to keep pace with the host team Long Beach, who defeated Elk Grove 6-5, in pool play Monday.

Carbon will look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday against Bakersfield at 1:30 p.m. PST. The contest will be the first for Bakersfield after having their bye Monday.
