Alan Peterson, local business owner and advocate for access, was a guest on KOAL’s Castle Country Focus on Thursday, July 27.

The topic up for discussion is Nuck Woodward Road Trailhead in Huntington, Utah, which runs up the right side of Huntington Canyon at the Stewart Guard Station, to the top ridge and then down into Carbon County, Clear Creek and Scofield Towns. Involved in the 2012 Seeley Fire, the recovery of the land is both incredible, and beautiful.

The Forrest Service is closing the road in September for hoof and foot hunting. Road closures are becoming more frequent, and are slowly preventing motorized access to many of the public lands. Hoof and foot enthusiasts have unlimited access to 100% of the forest, while motorized visitors continue to face increasing restrictions.
