SALT LAKE CITY (August 7, 2017) – The Utah Jazz will host National Anthem auditions on Friday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Megaplex Theatres at The Gateway. Auditions are open to individuals and small groups (up to eight performers) of all ages. Instrumentalists are also encouraged to try out.
The selected performers will be notified via email if they have been invited to sing the U.S. National Anthem before a 2017-18 Jazz home game. If selected, the performer must sing the same version that they performed during auditions.
The Jazz require the National Anthem be sung in a cappella and in a traditional manner, with no styling or individual musical interpretation.
It is strongly recommended for singers to attend the live auditions, but a recorded CD version can be emailed to crobbins@utahjazz.com or mailed to Utah Jazz National Anthem Auditions, 301 West South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.
Additional information may be found online at nba.com/jazz/anthem.
