Karen Sue Perri Birch, affectionately known as “Gma Soup” passed away December 6, 2017 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake at the age of 63.

She was born July 18, 1954 in Price, Utah to Angelo Perri, Sr. and Irene Zorn. On April 24, 1976, she married the love of her life, Gene Birch in Price, Utah.

Karen was a member of the Catholic Church. She was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Carbon High Class of 1972. Karen warmed the hearts of all and she had the pleasure of working as a lunch lady for
the Carbon County School District for 30 years. She dedicated her life to family and especially loved watching and supporting her grandchildren in all their activities. She loved camping, her daily walks, and cooking for
family. Karen was always on the go and no matter where she went she was always brightening someone’s day. Karen will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Birch, daughter, Shanel (Jake) Gray, both of Spring Glen; special niece, Channda (Sean) Metts, Herriman; brothers, Angelo (Rita) Perri, Jr., Randy (Susie) Perri, both of Spring Glen; 4 grandchildren, Taden, Indyanna, Danikka and Taycee; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who will miss her dearly.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved sister, Peggy Cripps.

Funeral Mass, Monday, December 11, 2017, 10:00 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church. Vigil service, Sunday evening 7:00 p.m. at the church in Helper. Family will receive friends at the church Sunday and Monday one hour prior
