The Emery Spartans followed up a brilliant offensive performance with another as the team earned a dominant 96-53 win over Maeser Prep Friday evening at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale.

Kyson Stilson posted a game high 30 points, doing most of his damage in the first half, to lead the Spartans to the win. Cade Brazier finished with 20 and Tyler Butler contributed 19 as Emery improved to 4-2 on the season.

Trailing 8-6 in the opening quarter, the Spartans scored 19 unanswered points to end the first. The lights out shooting continued in the second quarter as Emery opened a 51-18 lead entering the break.

Tade Davis posted a team-high 17 points to pace Maeser, who suffered their first loss of the season after recording wins over Telos, Rowland Hall and Waterford. Season leading scorer Jon Wellman chipped in with 11, and Michael Cross scored seven.

The Spartans followed up Wednesday’s offensive clinic against Carbon where the team hit 18 three-point shots by connecting on 17 Friday. The win also marks the second straight game where scored more than 90 points.

Emery will take the majority of the week off before returning to the court on Friday against South Summit. Following Friday’s home game Emery will travel to Grantsville on Wednesday, Dec. 20 in the final game before the Christmas Break.
