The Carbon Dinos continued the swimming season with a home meet against Uintah, Payson, South Sevier and Wasatch Academy Tuesday afternoon at the Desert Wave Pool.

Uintah claimed first place on the girl’s side of the pool, finishing with 227 total points. Carbon ended in second with 186, while Payson rounded out the top three with 144 points. South Sevier and Wasatch Academy completed the field of the five.

Payson topped the field on the boy’s side of the pool with 214 points. Uintah finished in second with 142, followed by Carbon in third. Wasatch Academy and South Sevier completed the remainder of the field.

Megan Swasey logged the first individual win for Carbon in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.57. Nicole Swasey took home first place in the 100 yard breaststroke by finishing in 1:22.33.

The 400 yard free relay team consisting of Emily Jesperson, Kacee Barrett, Shannon Baker and Megan Swasey recorded the final event of the day. The group of four completed the race with a time of 4:16.60.

Tuesday’s meet is the last of the 2017 calendar year, setting up a lengthy break for the team. The next competition will take place at home on Jan. 5 against Richfield and Gunnison.
