PRICE, UTAH – Utah State Eastern sophomore guard Madison Loftus has been named Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

She receives the honor after her performance last week against in 90-47 win over Colorado Northwest.

Loftus scored 21 points on 7-11 shooting from the field and 6-7 from three point territory against the Spartans. She also grabbed five rebounds, two assists and three steals on Thursday as well.

This season Loftus is averaging 15.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. She currently ranks third in the country for three-point shooting with 68 made threes.

Last season she was named an NJCAA All-American for her performance as a freshman. She also broke the school record for three pointers made in a season, a record previously held by current USU Eastern Head Coach Chelsey Warburton.

The Utah State Eastern women’s basketball team is currently 14-5 overall with a 1-1 conference record.

Loftus and the Eagles hit the road this week to take on Snow College on Thursday and the College of Southern Idaho on Saturday.
