The Carbon Lady Dinos improved to 3-2 in league play with a 72-19 win over American Leadership Academy Tuesday evening at home.

Carbon exploded out of the gate, outscoring American Leadership 32-5 in the opening quarter. Holding a 51-9 lead at the break, head coach Ted Bianco went deep into his bench for the final two quarters.

Kelsey Sorenson continued her stellar play offensively with a game best 17 points. Sophomore Jordan Bianco scored all 15 of her points from the three-point line, while Makenna Blanc added 12. Abbie Saccomanno also reached double-figures finishing with 11.

Carbon was superior on both sides of the floor, converting 25 field goals, while holding ALA to just eight. For the game Carbon converted nine shots from deep, while all eight of ALA’s make came from inside the perimeter.

Tuesday’s win gives the Lady Dinos sole possession of third place in Region 14 at the end of the first round of league play. The second and final round of region action will begin Thursday as Carbon travels to meet the Delta Rabbits at 7:00 p.m..
