The Emery Lady Spartans had 14 different players score at least two points in a dominating 97-24 victory over the Grand Red Devils Tuesday evening at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale.

Holding a 44-10 lead at the break, head coach Lynn Tuttle was able to go deep into his bench. Despite playing several underclassmen, the Lady Spartans continued to roll as they outscored Grand by a minimum of 15 points in each quarter.

Lainee Jensen connected on three shots from deep as she posted a game-high 17 points. Kacelyn Toomer scored 13 points, while Megan Jensen, Morgan Hurdsman and Bailey Huggard all finished with 12.

Hannah Owen led Grand with six points as the Red Devils struggled to find consistency on offense. Annabelle Garrett scored four, and three others finished with one point.

Now 4-1 in Region 15 action, Emery remains one game behind the Richfield Wildcats for first place in the division.

Emery will complete the first go-around of league play on Friday with a lengthy road trip to San Juan. The second go-around will begin on Tuesday with a monumental tilt at home against Richfield.
