Foresta Nielson was born on March 6, 1934 in Cleveland, Utah. She was the 7th of 9 children of Forest Gilson and Pearl Dumayne Gilson.  She passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018, in Heber City, Utah, at the age of 83.

Foresta was raised in Cleveland and graduated from North Emery High School.  She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Great Britain.  Thereafter she met the love of her life, Wilford Nielson, and they were married on June 4, 1960, in the Manti Utah LDS Temple.  Foresta and Wilford lived in Huntington, Dutch John, and eventually Heber City, where they purchased and ran the Country Estates Mobile Home Park.  While in Heber, Foresta worked at First Security Bank for many years.  Following retirement, Foresta and Wilford served a mission together in the Florida Tallahassee Mission.

Foresta had many passions that she cultivated throughout her life.  Her passions revolved around her family and serving others.  She loved to sew and made a number of beautiful quilts for her family.  She also loved gardening and traveling.  Nothing was more important to Foresta than her family and her faith in the Savior.  Her belief that she will be with her family forever sustained her.  She was guileless, faithful, and loving to the end.

Foresta was preceded in death by her husband Wilford, and four of her children: Myra Lynn, Ray Levi, Wilford Dumayne, and Barry Kay; as well as her granddaughter Misty LaDean Brisk.  She is survived by her sister LaVon Long, her children Diane Sue Bonner and Randy Allen Nielson, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
