Several talented dancers in the area will take the stage for the annual United Way of Eastern Utah Soles2Souls Dance Benefit. The program will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 1:00 pm inside the Carbon High Auditorium.

“This is one of my favorites, what this will be is local dance groups will be performing,” said Director Cheryl Thayn. “It’s $2.00 per person, $5.00 per family; we’ll have concession there, you can buy flowers and gifts for your favorite dancer.” All proceeds earned from the event will financially assist the Soles2Souls program.

“I believe that a child who needs a new pair of shoes, deserves a new pair.  This dance benefit goes to support that program,” explained Thayn. “Any child going to any school related program and an administrator from that program calls me, I can deliver them a pair of shoes, this is really one of my favorite things to get to do.” The program is to all students in both Carbon and Emery counties.

The mission for the program is “To help students in need, start off the school year in a new pair of shoes and feel self-confidence…” The program is able to carry out their mission through the generosity of the community.

If an individual is unable to attend the dance benefit but would like to make a donation towards the program, may do so my visiting the United Way of Eastern Utah website at http://www.uweu.org/ or give them a call at (435) 637-8911 Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
