Being a member of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce has some perks for business owners and merchants. It can bring credibility to the business, increase the visibility of services and products and expand business contacts within the community, if not beyond.

One of the many perks for members is the ongoing training that is offered to improve or advance all aspects of their business. “I don’t think people realize that they can get amazing training opportunities. We’ve got an expert coming in that’s going to do some email marketing training, that’s going to be coming up the next month and that one is only for chamber members,” said Chamber President, Ryan Murray. The regular price for this type of training can run in the hundreds per person. The cost for members will be offered at an affordable, discounted rate of $25.00 per person.

A new tech-savvy program called Snapshot Passport will be taking the place of the directory that has been issued in paper form in past years. “It’s an opportunity to engage people coming to the area, whether that’s people who live here locally or whether that’s people coming and visiting. So, the businesses provide an activity, people stamp the passport, it’s an opportunity for the people to come into their business and so you get a little more foot traffic,” explained Murray. Businesses will be added to the online directory, plus have an advertisement inside the passport. The passports are currently in production and will be made available at the Chamber. The completion of passports will be used to award various gifts and prizes.

Other traditional benefits of being a chamber member are the camaraderie with other members, whether that’s at social gatherings or meetings. Another great bonus is explained by Murray, “One in particular that I think is worth mentioning is we do member to member benefits and this is an opportunity for members to offer discounts or incentives to other chamber members.” Being a part of the chamber allows for more insight into what is happening in the community.

If businesses or merchants are on the fence about becoming a member, contact the chamber office at 637-2788 or visit with one of the Chamber Board of Directors to help answer any questions that you may have.
