The Carbon Dinos participated in three games in two days, finishing 2-1 at the San Juan Slug Fest Friday and Saturday in Blanding.

Continuing the non-region portion of the schedule, the Dinos defeated San Juan 15-1 in blowout fashion Friday afternoon. The team returned to field on Saturday, splitting a double-header with a loss to Grand and a win over Summit Academy.

Now sitting 5-4 overall on the season, Carbon will prepare for the Region 14 opener Tuesday afternoon at home against Providence Hall. The two teams will then complete the season series on Friday in Herriman.

Carbon- 15, San Juan- 1 Final:
Ty Anderson finished 4-5 at the plate, recording one double, three singles and three RBIs to lead an explosive offensive charge. Cody Lowe ended 1-4 with a triple and three RBIs. As a team the Dinos finished with ten total hits.

Lowe recorded a complete game win from the hill as the contest lasted only three innings due to the mercy rule. Allowing just three hits, Lowe struck out six and walked three as the Dinos improved to 4-3 on the season.

Carbon- 1, Grand- 2 Final:
Zac Bradley was pegged with the loss on the mound, despite a solid four inning performance. Allowing just four hits, Bradley gave up just one earned run. Collin Lewis worked two innings in a relief effort, striking out one and allowing one hit.

Unable to carry over the offensive momentum built in Friday’s win, the Dinos were limited to just five hits. Cesar Laya ended 2-4 in the box, while Cody Lowe recorded a double. As a team Carbon left seven total runners on base in the seven inning pitchers duel.

Carbon- 4, Summit Academy- 2 Final:
The bats once again came alive for Carbon as the team finished with ten total hits. Cody Lowe finished a perfect 3-3 with two RBIs to lead the offense. Collin Lewis also logged a RBI, ending 1-3 with a single at the plate.

Triton Abeyta earned the win from the mound, allowing two hits and striking out six in six complete shutout innings. Jaxon Leonard recorded the final two outs, giving up two runs and three hits in the seventh inning.
