A beautiful soul, Daniel Naveed Hekmat, left this world, far too soon on April 21, 2018 and took a piece of our hearts that can never be replaced.

He was born January 21, 1994 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Ali Hekmat and Cathrin Alaei and moved to Price, Utah when he was 9 months old.

“Dan Man” was a compassionate and caring person who was motivated to always do his best. He graduated early from Carbon High School and was currently enrolled at Utah State University – Eastern where he enjoyed classes in fine arts. Daniel loved music and was a very talented drummer in a band.

He had a love for animals, especially dogs, and was looking forward to soon owning one. Daniel was excited for this semester to end and was looking forward to moving to California with his dad. He was a soccer fan and enjoyed Nintendo games. Most of all, Daniel had many wonderful friendships that he enjoyed. All who knew Daniel will miss him dearly.

He was a fearless, courageous, confident, ambitious, driven, independent person who was a fighter until the end while trying to get a hold of his life. The only consolation we have in losing him is that he will finally be free from his continual physical pain.

Survived by his parents, Ali Hekmat and Cathrin Alaei; brother, Michael “Neema” Hekmat; many aunts, cousins and one uncle.

Funeral service and burial took place in Oceanside, California on April 27th, 2018. A memorial service will be held in Price, Thursday, May 3, 4:00 p.m. at the red brick LDS Institute (380 East 400 North). Immediately following, there will be a celebration of Daniel’s life in the alumni room at USU’s student center. Arrangements are entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Daniel online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
