PRICE – Softball lost to the College of Southern Nevada 5-3 Wednesday in the first round of the Region XVIII Tournament in Twin Falls.

CSN put up four runs in the first inning to give themselves a good lead to start the game.

The Eagles would cut that lead in half in the bottom of the second inning with back to back RBI singles by McKenzie Dorney and Carlye Levy.

Levy started the game for the Eagles and pitched all seven innings. She finished with seven strikeouts while giving up six hits and five runs.

The Coyotes would add a run in the top of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 5-2.

In the bottom of the sixth the Eagles scored a run off a Alexandria Burrola RBI single.

The Eagles couldn’t make up the run difference in the last inning and the Coyotes would prevail and move on to to the next round in the winner’s bracket.

With the loss the Eagles will play tomorrow at noon in the losers bracket due to double elimination rules in the tournament.

They will take on the loser of game four in the tournament between SLCC and the winner of CNCC and Snow.
