Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, Viola Lynn Birch Alderson, 68, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2018 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo after a quick battle with sepsis.

She was born July 20, 1949 in Price, Utah to Jack and LaPreal Sanderson Birch. Married James Alderson, April 18, 1970 in Price, Utah. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2009.

Lynn followed the passion of whatever her loved ones did. Throughout her years she loved fishing, camping, classic cars, hot rods, baking, cooking, needlepoint, crocheting and racing of all forms. In her final years, she really enjoyed going to the races at her hometown dirk track, but, everyone knew she enjoyed the socializing more than the actual race.

Lynn is survived by her sons, Brett (Mechelle) Alderson, Cedar City, Jason (Arin) Alderson, Helper; brothers, Gene Birch, Spring Glen, David (Marie) Birch, Price, Jimmy Birch, Price, Todd (Karen) Davis, Carbonville; granddaughter, Ryann Woodbury; many loving nieces and nephews (by blood or love). Lynn was everybody’s “Ma” and will be missed greatly.

Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and LaPreal Birch; husband, James Alderson; brother, Lonnie Birch; and sister, Beth Ann Gomez.

A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday evening, July 17, 2018, 6:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
