A solid first half performance was enough to lift the Carbon Lady Dinos past the Gunnison Bulldogs in a 2-0 victory in the home opener Tuesday afternoon.

Grace Broadbear and Molly Banks each found the back of the net once to record the only two goals of the contest. Goalie Ronni Williams logged the shutout as the Lady Dinos improved to 1-1 on the young season.

Tuesday’s win comes following a 9-3 road loss to the Richfield Wildcats in the season opener on Thursday, Aug. 9. Katie Marshall scored two goals for Carbon in the loss, while Broadbear added the other.

With only one non-region tilt remaining on the schedule the Lady Dinos will open the Region 14 portion of the schedule on Aug. 21 against Union. The first home region contest will take place two days later against Providence Hall.
