The Emery Spartans finished sixth overall at the sixth Region 15 meet of the season at the Palisades Golf Course Wednesday afternoon.

Competing at the home course of the Manti Templars, the Spartans finished with a final team score of 370. Grand and Manti tied for the top spot at 338, while North Sanpete finished in third with a 341.

Richfield’s 346 was good enough for fourth, followed by Manti in fifth, just two strokes better than Emery. South Sevier rounded out the field of seven in last.

Oakley Toomer was once again the low score for the Spartans as he fired an 82. Shaidyn Killpack and Logan Healey registered the second and third scores at 93. Taylor Lindsey gave the fourth score at 102.

With Wednesday’s results now in the books, the Spartans sit fifth overall in the region standings. Trailing North Sanpete by over 100-strokes, Emery is currently 14 better than San Juan.

The Region 15 season will continue on Thursday, Sept. 13 at South Sevier’s home course. The season will continue throughout the month of September, with the State Championship meet taking place October 1 and 2.
