The Annual Ascension St Matthew Church Fall Fare will take place on Friday, October 12 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, October 13 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. All of the activities for the event will take place at the church located at 522 North Homestead Boulevard just south of Castle Heights Elementary School.

“Ascension St Matthew’s sponsors two events a year. The Pancake Supper which everybody is all too familiar with wonderful pancakes and our Fall Fare which includes many, many different things,” said an Event Organizer, Pam Adams. “We want to encourage everyone to come, please, to the Fall Fare and I know there is a lot of t things going on that weekend it’s really a fun, kind of calm event.”

The event features various food items that have been prepared by parishioners such as the various and delicious homemade soups and chilies, baked goods, canned/bottled garden goods served during the entire event. “We have food available for purchase both days; you can eat in or take some home or both. Then on Saturday morning, we have breakfast casseroles that we fix so you can have those with your tea or coffee or juice whatever you would like to have,” said Adams.

This year will mark the fourth year for the annual silent auction. “We have some really terrific gifts this year. We have donations from our local merchants and our Ascension St Matthew’s members and many other,” stated Adams. Some of the items include gift baskets, certificates to local businesses for services or products and crafts. The silent auction will close it’s bidding at 12:00 pm on Saturday.

The church’s gift shop will be open for visitors during the event and feature items like Advent candles and wreaths, religious jewelry and Christmas crafts. All the proceeds from the event go to community outreach and building fund. Any questions please call the church at 637-0106.
