The Carbon Dinos football season came to an end with a 45-15 loss at the hands of the Richfield Wildcats in the first round of the 3A playoffs Thursday night at Carbon High School.

With the help of great field position the entire first quarter including a blocked punt the Wildcats jumped out to a 28-0 first quarter lead.

The Dinos were lead by junior quarterback Jaylon Dennis who ended the game with 121 all purpose yards and two touchdowns. Senior Collin Lewis rushed for 69 yards on 15 carries and junior Ridic Migliori added 25 yards on 4 carries.

In the second half the Dinos added points on a 2 yard run and a 34 yard run from Dennis, but the Wildcats lead by Emmit Hafen who ended the game with 134 yards passing and 133 yards rushing were just too much for the Dinos to overcome.

“You can use the word “Shell Shocked” we were three and out, we go to punt, that punt gets blocked, the attitude just changed and we lost our momentum.” Coach Josh Huntsman said after the game.

Carbon Ends its season with a 2-8 record overall and a 2-3 region record and plenty of optimism for next season.
