BLM, Price Field Office has initiated a 15-day public comment period for the Emery County Irrigation Pipeline Project Environment Assessment. The comment period will extend through Nov. 28, 2018.

Muddy Creek Irrigation Company has proposed to install 1,828 feet of buried irrigation pipeline on BLM
administered land in Emery County. This proposal is Phase II of the Muddy Creek Irrigation Company’s Emery
Town Water Improvement Project. If the project is approved, the pipeline would replace 198,000 linear feet of
earthen canal, reduce annual salt load by approximately 3,010 tones and provide pressurized irrigation to
2,000 acres.

“This project supports the salinity reduction work for the Colorado River and will also help serve the water
needs of Emery County,” said Green River District Manager, Gary Torres. “BLM strives to be a good neighbor
and support local communities whenever possible.”

The public is encouraged to submit comments online through BLM’s ePlanning project page at
https://go.usa.gov/xnBYN On the website, the public can view the proposal and maps. Comments can be added by clicking the “Documents” tab, then clicking the “Comment on Document” button.
