PRICE – Former USU Eastern volleyball player Jaelyn Olsen has signed with Ottawa University-Arizona.

Olsen was a two-year contributor for the Eagles and graduate from USU Eastern in 2018.

She says that she is excited to continue her playing career at Ottawa, a NAIA institution located in Suprise, Arizona, after taking the 2018 season off to coach and work.

“I was super impressed with their coaches and how invested they are in their team’s success. I contacted them immediately after I found out that my husband’s job was transferring him to that area,” said Olsen.

Another reason for the move to Ottawa was the opportunity to play close to her family who live in Tucson.

As a sophomore, Olsen received Region XVIII Honorable Mention honors after putting up 85 blocks up front for the Eagles. She also had 132 kills and 54 digs in 2017.

Olsen says that her two-year stop in Price was very important to her career at the next level.”Coach Jensen and Coach Stacy helped me develop into the player that I knew I could be. I can’t wait to take what I learned and grow even more as a player in the next two years,” said Olsen.

She is the second Eagle from the 2017 team to sign with a four-year institution. Her sister-in-law and former teammate Agatha Roese-Olsen currently plays for Westminster in Salt Lake City.
