Mary Porter was born in Price, UT to Angelo and Effie Georgedes on July 17, 1928 and called Carbon County home for her entire life. She passed away December 2, 2018. Her pride and joy Al Santi was born on October 5th, 1949. From her early years working in the family laundry, until her golden years taking care of loved ones, Mary was always a shoulder to lean on and a rock for those that depended on her. She’ll be remembered for her support of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, her love for her husband John D. Porter, and as a tirelessly dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and even great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband John D. Porter; her parents Angelo and Effie Georgedes; her sisters Elaine Nelson and Athena Vignetto and brother Johnny Georgedes. She is survived by her sister Florence Johnston; Matt and Lori Sidwell; granddaughter, Melissa Braley; her son Al Santi; grandchildren Heather Santi (Charles Thorpe ) and Anthony Santi; 4 great-grandchildren Riley Santi (Leah), Anthony Jr., Ayden, Nikki and Gideon; great-great grandson Milo. She will be missed by all on Earth, but much happier in heaven with loved ones and God. We’d like to extend a special thank you to those that made her final years more comfortable and enjoyable. Chris Santi, her friends Elvie, Pena, Claudia, and Josie who, along with countless others at Highland Cove, kept her laughing and smiling. Mary was grateful for Dr. Benjamin Williams and Peter Bernard whose care and compassion went above and beyond in her final time.
