It’s another full week of activities for Carbon High Christmas where the community is invited to attend as student body officers earn money to help families within the community that is in need this Christmas holiday.

“We are Carbon Christmas, we’re trying to help families provide a Christmas for kids that really can’t provide a Christmas. So, I think we are going to be helping over 50 families this year and raise over $36,000.00,” stated Student Body Member, Antonio Mecham. Each year the group of students looks to beat the past year’s goal which brought in $33,427.39.

Individuals or families within the community can do their part by attending the evening benefit being held at Winger’s Roadhouse Grill on Tuesday, December 11. “Come out, we can be your servers, we’ll give you drinks, we’ll give you popcorn, we’re just there to help you have a good meal with your family,” said Mecham. The event will begin at 5:00 pm till 10:00 pm at the Winger’s location of 205 North Hospital Drive. Student Body Officers will be working towards a portion of the evening’s sales to add to their cause.

Taco Time is looking forward to lending a helping hand again this year by agreeing to donate a portion of their daily earnings on Wednesday, December 12 to Carbon Christmas. Guests can enjoy Christmas Carolers throughout the day at the restaurant’s location of 64 West Price River Drive.

Taking place on Thursday, December 13 will be a Chili Cook-off and an evening of Bunco set to begin at 5:00 pm. This event will be held at the Tuscan Event Center located at 100 North 67 West.

Event organizers have made arrangements again with the King Koal Theatre to present a Christmas movie for all the children in the community on Friday, December 14. “We have a kids’ movie at 4:30 pm so please bring your kids and show them a movie. You can get a little time away from the kids, don’t tell them that but you can get some time away and they’ll have some fun,” explained Mecham. The 4:30 pm showing is geared around the younger children with a choice between Polar Express or A Muppet Christmas Carol. A midnight showing of The Black Panther and Grinch will be held for the older students to choose from. The cost for the movie event is either $2.00 donation per person or a new unwrapped toy.

Also taking place on Friday evening is a couple restaurant benefits, Little Caesar’s Pizza begins at 5:00 pm till they run out of pizzas and then all evening a portion of Cold Stone Creamery sales will go towards Carbon Christmas too.
