PRICE – Utah State Eastern women’s basketball coach Chelsey Warburton announces the signing of five players to join her program next season.

“Coach Nelson and I are thrilled with our with this 2019 signing class, they each bring depth to our team and will fit well in our system.  We believe they strengthen our group and together with the current players they will help in the continuing progress of the program. They have been successful student-athletes for their high schools and we are excited for them to carry that over to USU Eastern,” said Warburton.

Of the five signings, three come from the state of Utah including twins from nearby Emery High School.

Along with those three, the Eagles added depth in the post with a signee from Nevada and New Mexico.

Below are the first five recruits that have signed with Warburton and the Eagles for the 2019-2020 season.

Meredith Coleman, SF
Riverton HS – Riverton, UT
Coach Warburton: She is a competitor with a no quit attitude. She is an energy player and a great teammate, we are looking forward to her leadership abilities.”

Kinlee Toomer, G
Emery HS – Orangeville, UT
Coach Warburton: “Kinlee is an athletic guard who can push the ball offensively and can score in multiple ways. She has great court vision and does a great job involving her team.”

Kacelyn Toomer, G
Emery HS – Orangeville, UT
Coach Warburton: “Kacelyn is an offensive threat and can defend multiple positions which will help our guard lineup. She plays extremely well with her sister and adding two more local players is wonderful for our program.”

Leta Otuafi, F
Fallon HS – Fallon, NV
Coach Warburton: “Leta Otuafi will be bringing strength and quickness to our forward position. She has great hands and is a force on the offensive end, her ability to guard multiple positions as well as rebound are bonuses to her game.”

Mitchel Mortensen, C
Rio Rancho HS – Rio Rancho HS
Coach Warburton: “Mitchel is a great sign for us as a center, her length and mobility are key on both ends of the floor.  She is a determined player and we can’t wait to see her back on the court once she has recovered from her knee injury.”
