The Emery Spartans and Carbon Dinos were two of 14 schools that participated in the Tooele Invitational this past Friday and Saturday.

Accumulating 322 points, the Emery Lady Spartans logged a second place finish ending just behind first place Tooele. Carbon finished in third with 311 points, while Stansbury and Millard rounded out the top five.

Tooele completed the sweep of the weekend meet by also finishing at the top of the boy’s competition with 262 points. Emery also finished second with 252 points, followed by Millard with 227. Stansbury and Grand complete the top five.

Emery secured multiple first place finishes throughout the competition, including four from the boy’s team. Keldan Guymon was first in the 50 yard free style and the 100 yard breaststroke. Guymon also joined Asher Beagley, Deegan Minchey and Parker Stilson for first place wins in the 400 and 200 yard medley relays.

Haley Guymon recorded a win in the 100 yard breaststroke for the Lady Spartans, finishing in 1:14.81. Guymon joined Alexis Johansen, Angellena Migliori and Kaelee Hooley for a win in the 400 yard free relay.

Emery will compete in one more swim meet on Thursday at home against Millard and Grand before heading into the lengthy Christmas break. The next meet following Thursday’s will take place in Moab on Jan. 4.

This past weekend’s meet is the last for Carbon before they return to the pool at home on Jan. 4 against Richfield and Union.
