Angelyn died December 28, 2018 at the Parkdale Care Center of natural causes at the age of 94. Angelyn was born on November 7, 1924, in Red Lodge, Montana, to John and Agnes Yakopich. In 1933 her family moved to Helper, Utah, where she grew up and was a lifelong resident of Carbon County.

Ange graduated from Carbon High School and attended Steven’s Heneger for a brief time in Salt Lake City. She then moved back to Helper and worked for Utah Railway. She married Sam Cortese on September 7, 1944. They had two daughters, Beverly Ann (deceased) and Sharon Lee.

Ange enjoyed social gatherings and was a member of many Price organizations including: Ladies of the Elks, the Order of the Eastern Star, Lodge 113 of the SNPJ, the Sassy Ladies of Price, many bridge clubs and she always participated in the summer Slovanian picnics and their Sunday dinners. Ange was a member of Ascension St. Matthews Church. She traveled extensively with her daughter Sharon and enjoyed the many places they visited.

Ange is survived by her daughter, Sharon, Salt Lake City, her granddaughter Samantha (Jeff) Henrikson, and great grandson, Jesse, all from St. Leonard, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam, and daughter, Beverly.

A graveside service will be held at the Price City Cemetery on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 1:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Ange online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
