Castleview Hospital along with Miss Carbon County’s Outstanding Teen Eminie Sherman is hosting a free ice-skating day on Saturday, February 2.

Heart Health is a serious and personal topic for Miss Carbon County’s Outstanding Teen as she explains, “So when I was younger, I was diagnosed with Kawasaki which is a rare disease that attacks the blood vessels in your heart and I came through like a champ but most people usually don’t. I just think it would be really good if they can get out, get active and really know that if they get moving, they can keep their heart in good shape and they can live longer.” She also had a grandfather that suffered a heart attack that nearly took his life and now lives with a stent placed in his heart.

This event will take place at the Carbon County Skate Pond by the Carbon County Fairgrounds from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Guests will enjoy free chili and hot cocoa as they enjoy a day on the ice.
