It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, aunt and friend Rose Romano Strong. Rose passed away peacefully the morning of January 30, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born April 15, 1927 to Joseph & Mary Romano. Rose graduated from Carbon High School in 1944 and was a member of St. Anthony Padua Catholic Church. She married Robert (Bob) Strong shortly after the end of World War II. They made their home in Helper, Utah where they raised their two sons Corky and Scott.   Rose always said how very proud she was of them.

Rose worked in the Helper and the Price telephone offices for 25 years which she enjoyed and made some wonderful and lasting friendships. She was a long time member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Rose enjoyed bowling with friends, traveling with her husband to his Navy reunions and the many trips taken with her family. She especially liked going on cruises and to the rose bowl parades. Rose really liked sports and looked forward to watching the Utah Jazz games and reading all the details about them in the newspaper. She loved and cared about her family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.

She is survived by her sons and daughter in-laws, Corky (Jeanette) Strong and Scott (Doreen) Strong, grandchildren, Wendy (Roger) Johnson, Steven Strong (Brione Pattison), Scott Joseph Strong, Lacey (Ace) Mounteer, and Kayla (Tyler) Johnson, great-grandchildren Delaney Strong, Sarah Strong and Aidan Strong, Jade Mounteer, Melanie Rose Johnson and Rylie Johnson, one niece, and four nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Carlo Romano and Frank Romano, two sisters and brother-in-laws Minnie (Mario) Arlotti and Josephine (Mike) Brandol.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the Heirloom Inn staff and Bonnie Kirkwood for the care and compassion they always gave Rose. Many special friendships were made while she was there the last four years.
